The strategy unfolded across three phases, each designed to introduce Neighborhood the same way you would introduce a new neighbour: first by sparking curiosity, then by making connections, and finally by becoming part of everyday life.
In the teaser phase, Neighborhood appeared as a new arrival in the area rather than a new food business. Through the “Who’s Your New Neighbor?” series, handwritten notes and local flyer activations, the brand introduced itself to the people living and working nearby before revealing exactly what was coming. Instead of asking people to follow a bagel shop, we invited them to get to know their new neighbour.
Launch day turned that introduction into real-world interaction. Through real-time content and community-driven activations, visitors became part of the story from the moment they walked through the door. The objective wasn’t simply to announce that Neighborhood was open, but to show that relationships were already being formed.
Following the opening, the focus shifted from introduction to integration. Recurring content formats such as American Seal, Notes From The Neighbor and On The Go ensured the people around the brand remained at the centre of the story. Rather than treating customers as an audience, Neighborhood turned them into contributors, creating a social channel that could grow alongside the community itself.
